Vintage clothing on the hanger can be deceiving, so don't hesitate to try things on because you believe it won't work in you style range. I had looked at this dress several times, but it seemed very dated & 'school teacher' on the hanger. Then one night when I was shopping with another vintage aficionado, my sister, visiting from London I decided why not try it on? It fit perfectly and the way the definition of the waist was tailored along with the cheery scallops at the hem made me fall in love with it. The coat was bought on another visit and was altered to add fur like cuffs due to the 3/4 length sleeves and a collar. There are an amazing amount of things you can add or alter on vintage clothing to exude a classic look that is not dated. It just takes a little bit of creativity and help from those who are experienced at altering clothing to help you.
